RESEARCH2015
– A basis for prioritisation of strategic research
The RESEARCH2015-catalogue is a systematic, thorough and forward-looking basis for a political prioritisation of the effort areas of strategic research. The catalogue is the result of one year’s work during which a substantial part of society contributed to the identification of the 21 most promising future research areas for Denmark.
Every year, society spends a part of public research funds for strategic research within particular fields which may be a driving force in the continued affluence development or which may solve significant society-specific problems.
Strategic research is defined as research within a thematically limited area, which is subject to a political prioritization. Examples hereof may be research within fields, which could secure a better environment and a more efficient energy supply, or research in measures which may better promote public health.
Every four years RESEARCH2015 is to result in a solid and forward-looking basis for the political prioritisation of strategic research funds on the fiscal acts over the coming years.
RESEARCH2015 is based on extensive hearings, dialogue and analysis during which Ministries, research councils, members of the business establishment and other interested parties from wide parts of society were included.
You may follow the work on a running basis and read more about the RESEARCH2015-project on this website.
