Background
The background for RESEARCH2015 and RESEARCH2020 is the initiative "Better basis for prioritisation" which was a part of the agreement on distribution of globalisation funds in 2006.
Every fourth year the parliament will receive a catalogue of important themes for future strategic research.
RESEARCH2015
The RESEARCH2015 catalogue consists of six key areas, where strategic research can be a driving force for economic growth or contribute to solutions of major societal challenges.
The purpose of RESEARCH2020 is - based on RESEARCH2015 - to improve and future-proof the basis for prioritisation the strategic research effort.
