Research Barometer 2010
The research barometer is directed towards the world of research, the politicians as well as society in a wider sense. It presents the quality of Danish research and the Danish research profile in an international perspective.
Research Barometer 2010
In addition to feeling the pulse of Danish research, the intention is that the research barometer should take part in the identification of problems and research areas which subsequently could form part of analyses and evaluations that the Ministry of Science, Innovation and higher education, research councils and other operators carry out.
Contents
The first research barometer was published in 2009. At a series of points, the 2010 edition of the barometer is adjusted and expanded based on responses and acquired experience. For instance, the coverage of research within the humanities and social science of the barometer is sought expanded. Furthermore, publication data from the Danish bibliometric research indicator are for the first time included. These data form part of the basis for the distribution of the basic means of the universities.
Danish Research in International Competition
In the barometer it is illustrated how Danish research fares in international competition for research means with regard to grants and ranks, in international overall rankings as well as research results. Furthermore, the barometer describes the profile of the Danish research landscape within a number of central scopes of discipline and application. The total Danish research landscape through 20 indicators for research funding, people and bibliometrics is described as well.
Finally, the last chapter contains two short thematic explorations of pharmaceutical research and food research based on the main results of two just implemented analyses of these research areas.
