Research evaluation

The evaluations are to contribute to documenting the quality of Danish research, creating a basis for qualifying future prioritisations, and assessing the results of research investments.

The agreement on the implementation of the globalisation pool from November 2006 states that the increased investments in research create a need to establish significantly more extensive follow-up and evaluation activities than previously. The objective is to document the quality of Danish research, to create a basis for qualifying future prioritisations and to assess the results of Danish research investments.

The Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has drawn up a framework for research evaluation with a point of departure in the agreement on the globalisation pool. The framework describes, among other things, how the Ministry organises the work of research evaluation. To create the highest possible degree of transparency, the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation has drawn up guidelines that contain a detailed description of the evaluation process, including an overview of when the different stakeholders are involved.

On this website you can read key documents about the way in which the Ministry has organised the work of research evaluation. In addition, you can follow the ongoing work of evaluation and read more about the research evaluations that the Ministry initiates.
