The present survey reaffirms the picture of continuous growth in public Danish research commercialisation since 2000, when new legislation on public research inventions accorded universities ownership to intellectual property.
So far, technology transfer units are small, and the overall commercial performance by Danish research institutions remains second to that of American or British universities with longer experience in the field.
However, particularly for Danish universities, 2005 provided a break through in commercial results, marked by a considerable growth in license deals and commercial revenue.
