Conference on "Health risks from non-ionising radiation due to mobile telephony"
At the end of 2003 the Danish Government and the Danish Parliament decided to establish a strategic research programme for non-ionising radiation.
When: May 27, 2008
The objective of the programme is to shed light on potential health risks – including possible long-term effects – associated with the utilisation of non-ionising radiation in relation to the use of mobile telephony/the mobile telephone network and any possible risk to children and young people.
To manage the research programme, the Danish Council for Strategic Research formed the Programme Commission for Non-Ionising Radiation, consisting of Professors Philippe Grandjean (chair), Olav Breinbjerg, Kjell Hansson Mild, and Jørn Olsen.
A total of DKK 30 million has been earmarked for this programme, half being allocated for 2004 and half being allocated for 2005.
This conference is called to review the status of the research projects supported in respect to the overall programme objective and the current status at the international level.
