The Sino – Danish Centre
Knowledge collaboration: Establishing a Sino-Danish centre in Beijing.
In April 2010, the agreements were signed in Beijing in the presence of the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and the Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
As part of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation’s strategy for knowledge collaboration between Denmark and China, the ministry is establishing a Sino-Danish centre in Beijing in collaboration with the Danish universities, the Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (GUCAS) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
The overall aim is to create a visible platform for Danish research and education in China as well as to strengthen collaboration between Danish and Chinese research environments.
The Sino-Danish Centre will offer a framework for Danish-Chinese research projects, PhD programmes and joint Master’s degree programmes.
In order to ensure an optimal physical framework for the collaboration, a building for the Sino-Danish Centre – The House of the Danish Industry Foundation – will be constructed in Beijing. The building was made possible by a donation from The Danish Industry Foundation.
The Danish secretariat for the Sino-Danish Centre is located at Aarhus University.
