Who evaluates the application?

Industrial PhD applications are evaluated by the Industrial PhD Programme Committee.

The Industrial PhD Programme Committee (EFU) is appointed by the Danish Council for Technology and Innovation (RTI) and currently numbers 25 members. It is the job of the Committee to evaluate Industrial PhD applications and recommend the assessment (approval/conditional approval/rejection) to the Danish Council for Technology and Innovation.

The Committee is an advisory committee under the Danish Council for Technology and Innovation, and the decision-making authority lies with the Council. Cf. the Act on Technology and Innovation, the Council may authorise The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation to approve or reject Industrial PhD applications. The Council did this in September 2002. Accordingly it is the Agency which makes the decision on approval or rejection.
