In 2011 the Danish Council for Strategic Research funded research within the themes listed below.


Strategic research in Health, Food and Welfare

Deadline: Expired for 2011

The call included the following themes:

  • Connection between food, health and lifestyle (DKK 101 million)*
  • Sustainable and competitive food production (DKK 103 million)*

Strategic research in Sustainable Energy and Environment

Deadline: Expired for 2011

The call included the following themes:

  • Energy and Environment - Energy Systems of the Future (DKK 234 million)*
  • Competitive Environmental Technologies (DKK 29 million)
  • Climate and Climate Adaptation (DKK 15 million)

* The amount does not include a total of DKK 15 million for Danish-Chinese research collaboration and DKK 2,5 million for the joint European call within Electromobility+ – see ”international funding” at the bottom of this page.

The call included the following themes:

  • Nanotechnology, biotechnology and information- and communication technology (DKK 84 million)
  • Intelligent solutions for society (DKK 29 million)*

  • Green Transport - Sustainable Transport and Infrastructure (DKK 30 million)*

  • Clinical Research (DKK 59 million)
  • Health, prevention, and environmental factors (DKK 88 million)*

Joint European call for proposals on Neurodegenerative diseases: optimization of bio markers and harmonization of their use between clinical centers

Joint European call for proposals on The Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) on “Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change” (FACCE-JPI)

Some of the funding derives from anticipated allocations in the 2012 National Budget which will be subject to Parliament’s adoption.

Research2015 is the basis for the distribution of large parts of the funding.
